Active metro Atlanta production counts have come down from the mid-50s to roughly 23 in early 2026 — part of a global contraction driven by the 2023 strikes, a streaming industry recalibration, and tighter studio spending across the board. That is not a Georgia story; it is an industry story. And for productions that are shooting, it has created some real advantages worth understanding.

Stage availability is better than it has been in years. Trilith, Assembly Atlanta, and Electric Owl Studios all have more flexibility in their booking calendars than they did during the 2021–2022 peak. Crew availability has improved alongside it. The 30% transferable credit — 20% base plus 10% for including the Georgia promotional logo — is still the most competitive incentive program in the country for productions of this scale.
