Craft Service That Doesn't Fill a Dumpster

Atlanta Craft Services works with productions tracking waste diversion and carbon reporting. Here's exactly what we do, and what we can document for you.

Craft service and catering are among the largest waste generators on a set. We've been feeding Atlanta productions since 2014, and we've built our default setup around reducing what leaves the location as trash. We'd rather tell a production what we actually do than make broad environmental claims.

What We Do By Default

Refillable Beverage Stations

We run Cambro dispensers for coffee, water, and cold drinks instead of cases of single-use plastic bottles. On a 12-hour day with a 60-person crew this is the single biggest waste reduction available at the crafty table.

Reusable Service Equipment

Hot meals go out in reusable chafing dishes, hotel pans, and Cambros that come back to our kitchen and get washed, not thrown away.

Local Sourcing Where It's Practical

We buy local and organic to the extent that time and production budgets allow. We'll tell you honestly when a request pushes us outside that.

What We Can Do On Request

Ask for any of these during pre-production and we'll confirm availability.

  • Labeled compost, recycle, and landfill sorting bins staged at the craft table on request
  • BPI-certified compostable plates, cups, and cutlery in place of plastic
  • Bulk snack dispensers instead of individually wrapped items
  • Surplus food donation at wrap through a local Atlanta partner
  • Canned or boxed water where the production requires sealed single-serve beverages
  • Plant-forward and fully vegan menu options — see our vegan crafty page

Documentation for Your Sustainability Report

If the production is running a PEACH checklist or PEAR report, we will provide vendor-level information on request: what serviceware we're using and its certification, where our food waste goes, sourcing radius, and quantities of single-use items avoided.

We'll fill out a vendor questionnaire. A sustainability coordinator can contact us directly during pre-production — we'll respond the same business day.

Reach us at [email protected] or use the contact form.

What We Won't Claim

We're a craft service and catering company, not a carbon accounting firm. We haven't certified our operation against a third-party standard, and we're not going to tell you we have.

We'd rather give a production accurate numbers on the parts we control — serviceware, sourcing, food waste — than overstate the rest. If that's not enough for your report, we'll tell you that upfront.

The productions we work with tend to appreciate the honesty. The ones that need a certified vendor know where to look, and we'll say so plainly.
